The most important priority at Petals is to lay a sound foundation for life for the little ones which requires quality early childhood education. At Petals, education is never limited to books; one can learn anywhere, anytime. Petals Pre-Nursery program allows Petalians to step ahead in their educational journey. Their little minds solve small challenges which in turn builds their problem-solving and logical/reasoning skills. The harmonious pace of growth prepares them for lifetime of learning experiences and develops in them love for creating, learning, discovering and exploring. Their curiosity is also addressed perfectly well as every month they unfold a new theme and concept which focuses on developing academic skills such as pre-reading, pre-numbers, pattern writing, cognitive skills, social habits and physical strength. They also learn basic concepts like colours, shapes, moving on to understand the environment around them. To help them build a connect with the real world, they are indulged in imaginative play, role play and hands-on experiences.
A day at Petals Pre Nursery
Petals Facilitator stands with puppet in hand to welcome our little Petalians at the gate. Each Petalian is welcomed with a smile to make them feel connected and special. Petalians choose the way to enter the classroom through high five, dance, hug, shake hands etc. This creates fun in the class.
Our Petalians start their day with circle time to develop social interaction and positive relationships among peer group. It improvises listening skills, fine motor skills and gross motor skills. Circle Time motivates Petalians to attend school daily. During circle time, our Petalians do meditation activity along with tongue twister and concept clearance.
Petals follow a theme-based program throughout the year. Every month there is one theme undertaken around which our curriculum revolves. Our Petalians comprehend learning through the concepts.
At Petals, rhymes are done with music and dance to enhance musical skills. Petalians enjoy this session with their facilitators, props and peer group.
Petals provide healthy and nutritious meal to Petalians. Meal planner is designed under the able guidance of a nutritionist from AIIMS. Healthy meal and snacks allow children to enjoy eating healthy food in an encouraging social setting.
Montessori Time/Reading Time
During this time our Petalians are divided into groups. Some groups are involved with Learning Equipments and other groups are immersed with books in the library area. Petalians are allowed to pick up learning equipment/book of their own choice while facilitator moves individually to each child and put up thought provoking questions to raise curiosity and inquisitiveness towards learning.
Petalians are involved in an activity which can be individual or in group. The activity is related to the theme of the month and each Petalian is encouraged to perform the activity independently.
This is the time to revise the concept done on that day. Our Facilitators put up questions based on what is been done throughout the day. They are praised and appreciated in the form of stars and smileys that keeps them motivated and happy.
At Petals, letters and numbers are not just modes of expression but our Petalians' best friends. Every time a Talky Parrot comes to the class to talk about a letter and Ducky Duck talks about numbers. Our curriculum books are filled with delightful activities and colourful illustrations to provide a wholesome learning experience with a focus on pre-reading, pre-numbers and pattern writing.
In Petals Pre-nursery program, every alternate day a worksheet is done by our Petalians. These worksheet help Petalian to enhance fine motor skills and tripod grip.
Sports is a focus area when it comes to physical development of Petalians and we ensure they simply enjoy their kicks, punches, races and swings. Our Petalians go on a nature walk to observe and explore natural things with the magnifying glass. This enhances their exploration skills and zeal to investigate and learn.
Petalians hang their bags, clean their faces and use the washroom before leaving for the day. They wave good bye to their friends and facilitators with the promise to meet the next day.
